415 - Web and VISTA

The Web materials have been brought up to date, and the VISTA site is ready (remember - the VISTA URL has changed from last semester). I just sent out the following e-mail.

Welcome to LIS 415. A few preliminary things:

1) Don't buy books until after the first class. If you already bought books, don't worry about it.

2) Look at the course materials on the Web, all linked at http://web.simmons.edu/~schwartz/415.html. Also look at the FAQ - http://web.simmons.edu/~schwartz/myfaq.html.

3) I am not sure whether or not you have VISTA access to course materials yet, but when you do, I would like you to log in - http://my.simmons.edu/elearning/ - and open the Information Sheet and follow its instructions.

4) All other news will come to you via my blog, to which I recommend you subscribe (you can, I believe, subscribe to just the 415 part of it). If you do not use a news reader (which is the tool through which you subscribe to blogs), it's time to learn - ask the Lab. I use Bloglines - http://www.bloglines.com/ (this is not an endorsement, but it is easy).

See you in a week and a bit.
