ARL Initiative to Recruit a Diverse Workforce
This is a reminder that June 1st is the deadline to apply for ARL’s Initiative to Recruit a Diverse Workforce.
This is ARL’s long-standing program that aims to recruit masters of library and information science (MLIS) students from traditionally underrepresented racial and ethnic minority groups into careers in research libraries. The Initiative accomplishes this by providing a stipend of up to $10,000 in support of MLIS education (over a two-year period), leadership and career development training, and a formal mentorship program.
Although the focus of our recruitment for this iteration of the IMLS-funded program is on students with educational backgrounds in science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM) disciplines, students from all academic backgrounds are encouraged to apply.
