Dictionary Analyst, Lowe’s, Mooresville, NC
The Dictionary Analyst will be increasing the relevancy and speed of accurate content and information retrieval by acting as a liaison between the ECM Taxonomist and Dictionary Manager and business units to assist with creating and implementing policies and procedures, maintaining, and implementing changes to the Enterprise Content Management taxonomy, controlled vocabulary, metadata tagging and controlled vocabulary for migrated and new content.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The Analyst will be required to become proficient in all controlled vocabulary, metadata tagging, and dictionary processes and tools.
Work with the Taxonomist and Dictionary Manager to provide inputs to the overall taxonomy and dictionary management strategy and roadmap.
Responsible for ensuring compliance to and documentation of controlled vocabulary, metadata tagging, and dictionary processes, roles & responsibilities, and procedures/policies.
Assess business unit controlled vocabulary, metadata tagging, and dictionary management needs and develop plans to close any gaps.
Provide project leadership by arranging and conducting meetings for business unit implementation of controlled vocabulary, metadata tagging, and dictionary management processes, and support the business unit after initial implementation.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities:
Liaison with ECM Taxonomist and Dictionary Manager and business unit managers to define controlled vocabulary, metadata tagging, dictionary management needs and initiate projects.
Assist the ECM Taxonomist and Dictionary Manager and business unit leadership in defining business unit controlled vocabulary, metadata tagging, and dictionary strategies, co-developing business cases for project work, developing workflows, leading elicitation sessions, sharing results of actions, and executing plans.
Work with the members of the target ECM Dictionary Management Team, members of advanced support groups, and remote support personnel to collect and standardize relevant knowledge.
Perform requirements gathering, define specifications, and co-manage controlled vocabulary, dictionary management, and metadata tagging related tasks on projects.
Lead efforts to measure and optimize the controlled vocabulary, dictionary, and metadata tagging solution once implemented.
Meet with business units to understand current content and metadata tagging management practices and needs.
Use keyword analytic tools to perform and analyze keyword searches.
Use reporting tools to create and analyze metric reports.
Provide insights to the ECM Taxonomist and Dictionary Manager for input into the taxonomy software solution in the governance roadmap and release plans to meet Lowes short and long-term capability requirements.
Cross-training with Knowledge Management team for Knowledge Management and Content projects.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience
Ability to identify language patterns and generalize question patterns.
Solid verbal and written communication.
Demonstrated success in implementing controlled vocabulary, metadata tagging, cataloging or dictionary management.

Preferred Qualifications:
Masters in Library Science or Library Information Science or related field
Demonstrated success in developing and maintaining controlled vocabulary, metadata, and dictionary management.
1-3 Years Content Management Experience
1-3 Years Metadata Tagging, Controlled Vocabulary, and Dictionary Management Experience
Organizational Sensitivity and Change Management Experience
