Adult Services Librarian, Pelham Public Library, Pelham, NH
Duties: The Pelham Public Library is seeking a self-motivated and enthusiastic Adult Services Librarian to join our team. The position requires innovation and creativity. We are looking for the right person to join our small professional staff.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Provide quality information services to the public, responsible for all acquisitions and collection development of adult collection, create methods/displays to increase circulation, innovative programming, marketing of library services and programs, community outreach, advocacy, reference and readers advisory, teach patrons the use of technology and information resources one-on-one and in group settings to patrons, circulation services and management of circulation procedures, and management of portions of website.
Qualifications:
Full-time 40 hour position requires a Bachelors Degree with a Master of Library Science preferred
1-3 years professional library experience, new graduates encouraged to apply
Excellent oral/written communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to develop strong, interactive community relationships
Ability to assume responsibility and to carry out assignments independently
In-depth knowledge of collection development and readers advisory
Expert technical skills, including database and Internet searches, word processing, spreadsheets, Microsoft Publisher, e-readers, and software specific to libraries
Experience with social media and in new/emerging computer technology
Experience with WordPress strongly desired
Position may require some nights and weekends for programming
Sense of humor required
Salary: $31,000 with excellent benefits, including health and dental insurance, generous Earned Time Off and STD coverage, and membership in NH Retirement System.
This is a full-time (40 hours per week), salaried, FLSA exempt position.
