QUAL: Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science; two years supervisory experience in a public library; knowledge of electronic resource applications; competence in troubleshooting access to electronic resources; problem solving, analytical, computer and organizational skills; knowledge of the Dewey Decimal Classification System and its application; and thorough understanding of all aspects of library automation, particularly the III cataloging and acquisitions modules.

DUTIES: The incumbent is responsible for the acquisition and processing of print and media collections and establishing access to all online resources of the Wellesley Free Library (WFL); oversees the day-to-day operations of the Technical Services Department; and directly supervises Departmental personnel and activities. The incumbent organizes, maintains, and supports the WFL’s holdings of online, print, and media resources in the Minuteman Library Network (MLN) Catalog. The work requires demonstrated knowledge of the WFL’s automated system, up-to-date knowledge of online, print and media products, and the ability to communicate and work effectively with all other WFL departments in order to identify problems, and analyze, plan, and implement projects.

SALARY: $23.90 – $30.23
