DUTIES: The Wilmington Memorial Library is currently seeking an energetic, friendly, tech savvy professional to fill an opening for a full-time Teen Services Librarian. Responsibilities include selecting and maintaining the teen collection, reference and readers advisory for teens and children, developing innovative programming and outreach to teens in middle school through high school. Is part of the Youth Services team and provides support and coverage in the Children’s Room. Assists Technology Librarian with presentation of technology programs/classes and with technology based services that meet teens’ needs. This position offers the opportunity to work in a team oriented friendly environment open to innovation and making the library an integral part of the community.
Schedule is 35 hours per week with one evening per week and every third Saturday from September through June. Additional evenings and Saturdays may be required to meet programming needs. Complete job description available on Town of Wilmington web site.
Master’s Degree in Library Science with knowledge of classic and contemporary teen literature; Experience in planning and managing teens programs and events is preferred. Strong technology skills and experience with social media required. The ideal candidate will be proactive, innovative and enjoy working with teens and children.
SALARY: $46,328 -$58,625 in seven annual steps. All municipal benefits
