I liked this book up until the end. It felt a bit…forced to have the teacher spill her religious beliefs to Mena at the end, and seemed like a great way for the author to force her beliefs into the book just in case we didn’t quiiiiite get it. Don’t get me wrong, overall I enjoyed it a lot, and I think it’s something a lot of kids will be able to relate to. It’s just that I thought it was really GREAT up until the end, and I was a little let down by the actual ending.
I’d love to see a sequel, but I suppose that’s not going to happen. Pity, though. I did like the characters.
