The Jones Library

Amherst, Massachusetts

From the age of 5 through 12, every Wednesday before I went to Hebrew School, my dad would take me to the Jones Library in Amherst, Massachusetts. He would read the newspapers and I would explore the shelves for the oldest looking book I could find. It was in this library that I discovered a love of books and reading - I thank my dad, the library, and the librarians for that. It was my dad who always said, "books are our friends." That line, along with our weekly library visits, has stayed with me.
