Boston Public Library

Boston, Massachusetts

I love the Boston Public Library's Copley branch, because it rivals the Library of Congress's Thomas Jefferson Building in terms of art and architecture. I grew up near the Peabody Institute Library in Danvers, Massachusetts. The first book I remember checking out with my library card was B is for Betsy by Carolyn Haywood. I enjoyed concerts on the lawn, black and white films in the air conditioned meeting room in the summer, and volunteering there to earn my Girl Scout Silver award. My first library job was cleaning returned records.
