Why would I use a Wiki?

Wikis are designed to facilitate collaborative editing of a website. If you are looking to simply publish information, a wiki may not be the best tool. But if you have a larger group of people who need to contribute to your site, a wiki may be the answer.

What is available?

The GSLIS Technology Group is making Mediawiki available for use within the GSLIS community. Mediawiki has been widely deployed for large wiki projects, including Wikipedia.

Can I try it out?

A "sandbox" wiki is available for you to experiment with. Click here to take a look.

Who is eligible?

The Simmons Graduate School of Library and Information Science is now offering Wikis to members of the GSLIS community.

How can I sign up?

Please fill out the wiki request form below. Please allow 4-5 business days for your wiki to be enabled. You will receive an e-mail explaining how to access the new site when setup is complete.

* If you would like a custom logo on your wiki, please include a URL when you submit your request. The image must be in JPEG, GIF, or PNG format, and we recommend that the it be 135x155 pixels at 72dpi. The Tech Lab staff can assist you with creating an image and uploading it to your personal web space.
