Linda W. Braun
When I'm not teaching at Simmons I call myself an Educational Technology Consultant. That means that I work with schools and libraries to help them figure out the best ways to use technology in their programs and services. My favorite projects are those in which I get to work with teens and technology and those where I get to work on the development of online learning and/or websites (redesigns and usability.)
I teach three classes for Simmons. LIS 460, LIS 483 (Young Adult Literature), and LIS 531g (Information Architecture and Web Development)
I received my MLIS from Simmons in 1981. First I was a children's librarian, then I became a YA librarian, in between and after I worked in administration and in a couple of non-public/school libraries. Before going off on my own I worked as the Youth Services Consultant for the Eastern MA Regional Library System (EMRLS.) EMRLS doesn't exist anymore and just before they morphed into something else I went off on my own.
Along with my degree from Simmons I have an Masters in Education (specializing in technology in education) from Lesley University. I do quite a bit of writing, including a column for VOYA and have published (or am in the midst of writing or publishing) several books.
You can email me at lbraun@leonline.com.

I blog about technology for YALSA and that's the blog I'll consider a part of this class.
