About Me

Hi, my name is Amanda Pegg-Wheat. I'm finishing up my MLIS this summer after what feels like a very long time in the program. This class along with History of the Book (at Mount Holyoke, which is a bit of a trek from Quincy twice a week but ever so worth it) should be my last so I'm very excited. I did my undergraduate degree in English at Bryn Mawr College, finishing in 2001, then started my MLIS at Simmons a year later.

For the past (almost) six years I've been working full time as a children's librarian at the Thomas Crane Library in Quincy, MA. At the moment I'm especially proud of the children's summer site which I built a few years back and tweak every year. While I'm not currently working in an academic environment I hope that at some point I will be able to find a job working in a private secondary school library.

As for hobbies and the like, I can knit simple scarves, quilt simple quilts, play a dizzying game of Tetris, blog like it's going out of style (last count I had at least six personal blogs on various services) and every so often I try to write.
