What is Yahoo! Go?
Yahoo! Go was adapted for the “small screen” of a mobile phone, making it easy and fun to access the Internet. The Yahoo! Go interface is designed to be both attractive visually and to give users what they want with the fewest steps possible. At the center of Yahoo Go is the carousel, used to navigate intuitively among the various Yahoo! Go widgets which include a user’s personal channels for email, local info & maps, news, sports, finance, entertainment, weather, Flickr™ photos and search. The carousel is used to scroll over to the desired widget. Since Yahoo! Go uses advanced caching and background loading technology, the widget content is automatically and continuously “pushed” to the phone, so it’s always right there when the user wants it. Users can avoid lengthy downloads and navigate loads of links to get to what they want.
Advantages of Yahoo! Go
The content and the settings that you put into your Yahoo account on your PC will automatically be included in your mobile phone, and vice versa. Also, all of your personal information (email addresses, contacts, etc.) will remain in sync with your Yahoo account. Yahoo! Go lets you customize your information to fit your needs, meaning that you can select content from anywhere on the web. Yahoo! Go also makes searching simpler by letting you simply type in the name of the website you are searching for and then clicking on the name to be taken there.
Yahoo! oneSearch
Yahoo! Go incorporates Yahoo! oneSearch in which search results are grouped by subject matter and by relevance, making mobile searching faster and simpler. The search results are easy to read, to scroll through, or to narrow down for even more precise results.
