Mentoring

MSLA-SIG is a great resource for information, and the only better source are the students themselves. If you have questions that need answering or know the program inside-out, definitely let us know and we can hook you up via email to someone. This is a great informal opportunity to network within our program and to meet new people. Either email a board member know that you're interested or email us at msla@simmons.edu!

Past Events

Thanks to everyone who came to the Breaking Dawn release party! We had a really excellent time and hope you did too. Don't forget to go to the Twilight page to either see pictures of everyone who was there or discuss the book on the discussion board. Keep an eye out for the Twilight Movie party in Dec.

MSLA-SIG, ALASC, and PLG celebrated Banned Books Week by showing awesome displays and having a panel discussion on how different librarians deal with book challenges. Ellen Girouard represented the school libraries and shared her experiences and advice with past book challenges. The podcast of the full panel is available here.

Nov. 21st was Twilight movie night. We had an great time and enjoyed the awesomely bad movie. Thanks to all that made it and hung out with us afterward.
