Knitting is awesome. I learned about five or six years ago and I haven't put down the needles since. If you want to learn, I recommend Stitch 'n' Bitch: The Knitter's Handbook, by Debbie Stoller, or ask about classes at your local yarn store. There are lots of great web resources, covering everything from the basics (some sites have video tutorials) to free patterns (my personal favorites).
