Introduction

My name is Dawn Hackman and I am a student in the Archival Management concentration. In July 2006, I graduated from UCLA with a Bachelor of Arts degree in German. Moving from my home in California to a small town in western Massachusetts was quite an experience! Despite a plethora of complaints (the lack of decently-priced salmon being one of them), I really do enjoy it here and am looking forward to earning my MLS from such a reputable school.

Is it at all surprising that a GSLIS student lists reading as a favorite activity?

Music and Art

Music has been a large part of my life ever since I was a child. My favorite composers include J.S. Bach, Beethoven and Chopin. Although I play less than I once did, I am still an avid listener of all styles of music.

In terms of art, I didn't really start appreciating it until I took an art history course in college. I am slowly learning which styles I like, instead of only knowing what I don't like. For more about art, including a pdf file filled with amazing paintings, please see Dawn's Art Page.

Sports

American Football, Soccer, and Ice Hockey.
