Kevin Lague
From GSLIS Wiki Sandbox
Hello all. My name is Kevin. I work at MIT as a Serials Acquisition Assistant in the Libraries. I like thinking that I know how to make the world better. I also like sports, books, biking, and arguing. I am obsessed with music, sleep, and food. I believe that only the basest of human endeavors are of any value, which is why I fret daily over my decision to enter into the GSLIS program. Then again, I suppose one needs a career these days to support the base. Anyway...
Here's my outdated resume! Sweet.
My Bass
(and my spinet, too...)
This is a bass guitar I built a year ago while in between jobs after graduation from college.
Things that were used in its construction:
Things lying around my house:
- A washtub
- A piece of plywood
- A piece of red oak
- A broom-handle
- A 2x4 from the wall in the room that was destroyed when my basement got flooded out
- The bottom board of the foot of my old bed
Things I bought:
- Machine head tuners from Guitar Center=>(yuck...)
- Screws and washers from Home Depot (They use FSC certified wood, yay!)
- Epoxy bonding from Home Depot
- Strings from somewhere online... (These cost more than everything else combined times four but they are worth it)
