About Me
Hello everyone! Like so many other GSLIS students have said before this is my first wiki page. I don't have any pets (silly landlord) so I can't put up any adorable pictures to make you read my page. I can, however, tell you a little about me and what I am interested in.
My Hobbies
- reading
- watching way too much tv
- traveling
- hiking
- beading
What's that she said. Beading. What does that mean? Yes, I am slightly obsessed with stringing small round pieces of glass together. For the last year I have been working for a bead artist in Connecticut. Under her guidance I have turned a hobby into an art form. Here are some examples of what I have made.

The purple bracelet is called Lotus and the blue necklace is called Circle Game. These pieces are both made by utilizing a knowledge of how different sizes of beads can fit together to create interesting forms. These sizes are:
- size 11-the standard size of bead and also the biggest used in these particular pieces
- size 15-smaller then 11s, these are typically used for embellishments
- Delicas-different in shape from the previous two sizes, instead of being round these beads are cylindrical in shape
This technique is called a cabochon surround. You can see more of my work at Bead Pattern Central
School
So far I am enjoying being back in school. I came to GSLIS with a focus in Archive Managment by way of a BA in Classics. I knew that I didn't want to go to grad school for Classics but I have always really enjoyed history and seeing how back then relates to now. Library Science and Archive Management also fit my desire to help people discover the past. So that's a little about me, I hope everyone's semester is going well.
