Help preschoolers understand the changes occurring around them. Teach them that Fall and Autumn are actually the same thing. You will help expand their knowledge of the world around them and provide them with topics to share at home. You can even include families!

How can you introduce preschoolers to Autumn?

  • take them on a fall nature walk
  • collect leaves
  • talk about changes in trees and obeservations about nature
  • read books about Fall

I recently took my students on a walk around our school. They were very excited to look for leaves, acorns and other changes in the environment. We spotted this red leaf on the ground. After this the children started saying "Goodbye green" and waving at the trees with half green and half yellow, brown, orange or red leaves. This was a good experience to welcome Fall.
