SIR/PLG Book Drive 12/4 - 12/11: Help your old books find a new home!

See the follow-up report of the Book Drive's success

Do you have some books lying around that could be put to better use? If so please consider donating them to the Women's Lunch Place. The Progressive Librarians Guild (PLG) and the Simmons International Relations (SIR) will be holding a book drive for the Women's Lunch Place next week from Monday 12/4 until Monday 12/11 or until we reach the modest goal of 50 books collected.

Please bring your gently used paperback books to the GSLIS student lounge located on the 2nd floor of the Palace Road Building. There will be a clearly marked box in the student lounge. We are asking for books on the following topics and paperback is preferred:

- Popular fiction

- Science fiction

- Young adult literature

- Children's

- Up-to-date reference books relevant to homeless women, especially health books (i.e. Our Bodies Ourselves)

- Any of the above books in Spanish, French or Russian

The Women's Lunch place is a non-profit daytime wet shelter for homeless women. It is located near Copley Square and provides a warm and comfortable place to spend the day and eat a free and healthy breakfast and lunch. For more information please see: http://www.womenslunchplace.org/
