Officer Meeting

A brief discussion about the SLA table setup at orientation and how it might be better done next year.

Semester membership, we already have five so lets shoot for ten.

Heather took care of meeting room reservations.

Brittany and Katherine speaking one the 12th; Darren speaking on the 9th.

Heather – maybe since we saved money on pizza we can get cookies and pizza for the next meeting?

Darren is still working on the tour but it may not happen. Brittany said the Amgen library is a no go. Maybe next semester? Heather is looking into Olin college which would require a limited RSVP, and vans to get there. Mention is made to setting up a tour at a news library such as the Herald.

Babson college would like to work with us – possibly a job panel? They are having a dinner in Boston and have invited the student chapter to join.

Nicole will do the flier for the tech panel when all speakers are confirmed.

Brittany is interested in giving up the job of sending the job postings to the listserv. It should be sent every two weeks. Nobody took the bait and she is still in charge of this.

Darren mentioned that the website is full of glitches (Nicole is going to redo it for class).

Katherine will submit the budget and will shoot for $900.

Brittany suggests having a folder in the file cabinet for SLA.

Possibility of getting Ana from Babson to come and talk with us. Maybe Anne Whiteside for the November meeting. Annika may try to find somebody to come in October.

Brittany discussed e-journal publishing for elective courses as a way to self publish and share resources.
