Celebrate the Open Access Week
October 24-30, 2011

In the last 20 years, subscription prices to scholarly journals have increased by more than 260%. As libraries' budgets shrink, so too will their journal numbers. This means students will lose access to invaluable literature.

Students: You should have the right to access scholarly works for free, both during and after you graduate. Open Access (OA) is based on the fundamental premise that knowledge is and ought to be public and promotes unrestricted access to research resources through peer-reviewed OA journals and open archives or repositories.

We're planning several events to celebrate Open Access Week 2011 at GSLIS.

Come celebrate with us!

Taxpayers pay for publicly funded research; they should have access to it-
it is our right!
