Marcel LaFlamme is a current student in the Master’s degree program at Simmons GSLIS, and co-chair of the Simmons chapter of the Progressive Librarians Guild. On Saturday, September 22, Marcel spoke about the importance of public libraries collaborating with the communities they serve in order to meet their information needs. Marcel’s talk was part of the second annual GSLIS Skill Share, which was sponsored by the Simmons chapter of the Progressive Librarians Guild.

    A fascinating talk, Marcel!
    I wonder what a progressive librarian would do if a self-assessed community demanded social statistics formulas in dusty tomes. There still seems to be great value in giving the community center ethos constitutional authority. Maybe emblazon it on the walls?
