Alumni Day Spring 2009 - Panel

On April 17, 2009 Simmons GSLIS hosted its Alumni Day, featuring a special afternoon program honoring the life of Professor Allen Smith. There was also a mid-morning panel discussion entitled, “Place and Presence in a Virtual World: What Will it Mean for Libraries and Archives?” The panel included John Brigham, GSLIS class of 2010, and dean’s fellow for technology support at GSLIS; Terry Plum, Assistant Dean for Technology and Director of the GSLIS Program at Mount Holyoke ; Valerie Diggs, GSLIS class of 1996, department head of libraries K-12 at Chelmsford Public Schools; and Jessie Thuma, GSLIS class of 2008, reference librarian at the Thomas Crane Public Library in Quincy, Mass.
