MSLA Conference - Christine Drew - Staying Current With Emerging Technologies
Christine Drew, M.L.S., is Manager of Instruction & Outreach at Gordon Library, Worcester Polytechnic Institute in central Massachusetts. Christine serves as IT liaison to various academic departments. She coordinates the information literacy program at WPI, leads instruction sessions and workshops on a variety of research topics, and has been hosting a library podcast,Audio & Video to Go, since August 2005. Christine also coordinates various outreach activities to market the library including Scare Fest Halloween Vendor Fair, the library page on Facebook, and Campus Center Interventions. She has aided in deployment of cool tools for the library including a federated search, iGoogle gadget, and LibX toolbar. Prior to working at WPI Christine served as Manager of Instruction and Reference at Babson College in Wellesley, MA. She received her M.L.S. from Southern Connecticut State University in 1994. Her presentation entitled “Staying Current With Emerging Technologies” was given as part of the Massachusetts School Library Association Conference at Simmons College on April 26, 2008.
