Change at Park Street Under; the story of Boston's subways

From Dave's Wiki

A very breezy "railfan's eye" account of the Boston subway system from its origins through the 1960s. Intensely detailed in some respects (includes listings of the status of individual subway cars), while utterly silent on many of the social and cultural issues related to mass transit, public works projects, etc. Every chapter seems to start with multuple enthusiastic exclamation points, and footnotes/citations are few and far between.

The author, a professor of philosophy at Boston College, was noted on the dust jacket as "very likely America's foremost non-professional subway enthusiast and authority." While the book is an interesting read and a good overview, I would be hesitant to rely on it as a major source for historical research on this topic.
