- I always forget where the GSLIS upcoming events calendar is - Resources isn't intuitive for me. I wish it was a top level item. Thanks for doing this (Caryn, GSLIS staff/alumni)
- "I just talked for an hour to a prospective student ... He's coming from a humanities background and really wants more technology experience. Here's what I just wrote to her re: his impressions. Thought this might be good feedback for your project: He said he had the initial impression from our website that Simmons was "soft" -- theoretical and pie in the sky rather than techy and practical. (In comparison, presumably, to Syracuse.) He specifically mentioned management as a class that gave him that impression. Interesting feedback for the Web IA project -- perhaps we need to feature our more hands-on and techy things more prominently..." (prospective student via David Dwiggins, GSLIS Dean's Fellow)
- "I have a few questions about the program at Simmons that I couldn't find the answers to on your website. I would appreciate your help in answering them:
- How many students are currently in the MS program?
- How many minority students are in the MS program?
- What is the ratio of female/male students in the MS program?
- How many applicants did the MS program receive for the past admissions cycle, Fall 2007?
- How many of these applicants will start their MS program in Fall 2007?
- Is there any type of support in finding internships during the MS program?
- Is there any type of support in finding a career after the MS program?
- If possible, am I able to talk to a current student in the MS program to gain a student perspective?"
- (part of an email shared by D. Davis Dean of Admissions, during her user persona interview from a prospective student, posted by Margaret Adams)
- I recently became rather confused by the fact that there are two versions of the course catalog online, one on the internal site and one on the external site. The catalog on the external site was out of date. This is a real problem! I believe that such information should not be duplicated but should live in one place. Thanks! --Kalish2 10:31, 7 October 2007 (EDT)
Just a technical suggestion: On simmons.edu/gslis:
- If it isn't a conscious decision, the in-text links should be bulleted. It's easier for scanning.
Keep up the good work! Brody2
