uses Epson Scan software

1200 dpi scan of one book page took 10 minutes

[edit] Questions

Will we be OCRing? Yes if we have time. Each scanner will do that on the tech lab computers.

What is the difference between multi tif and tif?

Who will be editing and cropping images? the scanner or digitization team? Each scanner will be editing

Where will be saving the files? First in Y drive and then in LIS 462 web space TBD

What are the most common image sizes in the scrapbooks? What resolutions should each size be scanned at?

Should we use the Professional Mode in Epson SW? (probably yes because it allows us to use 48-bit color)

Do we want one master file and make derivatives? How many derivatives (and what formats should they be)? Should the master file leave space around the image to show "proof of edge"?

We might have to make sure the Epson SW is configured to scan the whole flatbed (choose large for window size). It wasn't defaulted to this in the tech lab.
