[edit] DL Name
You'll have an opportunity to vote for one of the two following names in class. Taking the lead from "Marion Pearl Ayer", Marketing recommends that we not include "scrapbook" or "digital scrapbook", feeling that it's more streamlined and classy without. If anyone has other recommendations, please email us!
- 1.) Catherine Hering Jensen :PF, CS, KL, LM, WB, JP, RW, LR, JL, BM, BA, SK, CL, AG, JG, ARC
- 2.) Catherine Hering Jensen Collection : LO, JSM
- Questions- is there anything we could use as a subtitle, like "A woman of ..."?--Schwartz 11:41, 15 October 2008 (EDT)
- I like number one with Candy's subtitle suggestion. Even something Joni Mitchell-ish like "A woman of heart and mind" lures in the user. --Brownw 18:56, 15 October 2008 (EDT)
- We're sure her maiden name isn't "Hering"? --Rodrigul 20:27, 15 October 2008 (EDT)
- Her maiden name is "Hering", sorry. --Gonzalm3 10:17, 17 October 2008 (EDT)
- I vote for number 2, if the scrapbook is about Hering's collection I prefer to use this reference term so as to make it easier for patrons.--Myeza 8:00, 21 October 2008 (EDT)
[edit] DL Logo
A new logo is in the works. Look for it in Web Committee mock-ups. (Oct. 30)
- UPDATE: logo will appear in the newest mock up sometime near Nov. 15th.
- The logo (there's a sketch on Flickr for a rough idea) would be a 1940s-style bust of a woman singing into a microphone, superimposed on a musical staff. To the right of that logo will be the title of the collection.
- Color palette:
- We decided on a muted, retro, red, white, and blue color palette. We took inspiration from these napkins in the scrapbook.
- These were the colors we had in mind:
- red: FF0000
- white (cream): FFCCFF
- blue: 00FF66
- When I use the hex code for the blue, I get a yellowish-green. Is this the correct code? Thanks. --Langley 11:57, 22 October 2008 (EDT)
- UPDATE: After meeting with Web Committee on 11/13, we agreed on the following color changes:
- red:cc3333 (red hexadecimal)
- blue:333399 (blue hexadecimal)
- cream:faedc1
- UPDATE: After meeting with Web Committee on 11/13, we agreed on the following color changes:
