- serves as the spokesperson of the GSLIS student body
- serves as the liaison to all other student organizations
- helps coordinate student organizations and student volunteers for Advising Day
- attends GSLIS alumni meetings
- distributes "This week in library school" weekly emails
- moderates the LISSA listserv
- plans the End of the Semester summer and spring ceremonies
- calls LISSA officer meetings
- calls LISSA general meetings

- serves as backup for the president in the case of her/his absence at LISSA general and officer meetings.
- plans the wildly popular End of Semester Party for Spring, Summer, and Fall
- organizes the distribution, collection, and filing of the LISSA course evaluations

- Takes LISSA meeting minutes and posts on wiki

- Maintains the LISSA Calendar on eLearning
- Stocks supplies to the Matarazzo Student Lounge, executes fridge pitches

- takes minutes and shares relevant student related business on the LISSA listserv, wiki etc...
- Asks students for feedback, comments on the LISSA listserv and announces them at the faculty meeting
