[edit] Nominations so far:

Name: Andrea Rounds
Nomination for: Treasurer

Hi! My name is Andrea Rounds and I would like to be your Treasurer! I'm currently working at a large local 'Institute' (which shall remain nameless) as the supervisor of library serials acquisitions. In this capacity I am responsible for tracking, balancing, and managing a complex budget. I'd love to apply my skills here, and benefit the GSLIS community. You'll find that I'm approachable, reliable, and friendly- which are all helpful traits to have when handling a budget. I hope you'll vote for me and allow me to serve you as your LISSA Treasurer. Thanks! (Andrea Rounds)

Name: Sonya Durney
Nomination for: Student-Faculty Representative

I would like to nominate my peer, Sonya Durney, for the position of Student-Faculty Representative. It is our hope to combine forces and work together as a team for LISSA. Both soon to be in our second semesters in the GSLIS program, we have a successful academic track record working together. It is our hope to share the Student-Faculty Rep position. (Tara Lincoln)

Name: Tara Lincoln
Nomination for: Student-Faculty Representative

I wish to nominate my colleague Tara Lincoln. It is our goal work together as a team for LISSA. We are both in our second semester at GSLIS, and are eager to get involved with the community. We have a proven track record of working well together as a team; and wish to continue doing so. It is my opinion that we would be a fabulous Student/Faculty representatives!! (Sonya Durney)

Name: Katharine Dunn
Nomination for: Student-Faculty Representative

I'd like to nominate myself for a student-faculty representative position representing archives students. I think I'm a good fit for this role because I'm an archives and library student interested in issues from both professions, and I'd like the chance to report back to archives students some of what's happening in the school (and vice versa). I'm a second-semester student, and I also work for GSLIS as the dean's editorial fellow. (Katharine Dunn)

Name: Holly Erickson
Nomination for: LISSA President

Hi, I'm Holly Erickson and I'm running for LISSA president. I'm halfway through the program, and I have come to appreciate the important role that LISSA plays on campus. The current officer board has done great work, and I would like a chance to continue their initiatives on student evaluations while adding a few initiatives of my own, especially in the area of student org cooperation. I see the potential for more joint projects and gatherings, and look forward to working with other students org leaders if I am elected. For the past year, I have worked as a dean's fellow in the Tech Lab, coordinating the TOR and drumming up volunteers to teach workshops each semester. This experience would be useful for coordinating student volunteers for Advising Day. My main focus as president would be to continue LISSA's tradition of initiative and communication, to ensure that students have a voice in the college. I think this will be especially important in the coming year, with the college's current financial climate and accreditation right around the corner. Thank you for your consideration, and good luck with end of semester projects.(Holly Erickson)

Name: Naomi Magnoni
Nomination for: LISSA Secretary

I am one third of the way into the program. I have appreciated the online communication from LISSA. They have helped me feel apart of GSLIS. I would like to contribute more to the process as well as help with making the end of the semester evaluations be web based. I have taken notes or been the secretary for previous organizational groups such as the South Carolina Chapter of AmeriCorps. Thank you for considering me as a LISSA Secretary.(Naomi Magnoni)

Name: Cassandra Black
Nomination for: LISSA VP

Hi All! I'm Cassandra Black and I would really enjoy the challenges and opportunities involved with being your LISSA Vice-President. I think the GSLIS program has a lot of great people but it can be hard to meet up and interact outside of class because of the hectic lives we lead. I am determined to plan some great parties as opportunities to connect and network with other students (as well as imbibe tasty libations), to get away from class and have a few drinks, maybe some bowling or roller derby or dueling pianos or baseball games, I am open to suggestions! I also wouldn't mind organizing the class evaluations and making them as painless for students and professors as possible. I am flexible and quick to adapt to changes and I am really open to suggestions from everyone about what parties/outings to plan; I would love to help groups within GSLIS self-promote as well as finding spaces for people sharing the same interests to meet up. Thanks and I look forward to seeing you all with your party hats on! Last thing, Congrats to everyone graduating this year! (Cassandra Black)

Name: Kate McAngus
Nomination for: LISSA Secretary

I'm half-way through the program and for the past year have served as Vice-President of ALASC. The experience has been valuable and fun, and I hope to use what I've learned to serve the GSLIS community through LISSA. I enjoying planning and organization a great deal, and welcome the challenge of ensuring each course is evaluated each semester. I also love fun, which could come in handy when planning end-of-the-year celebrations. LISSA has done a great job this past year of engaging and informing students and I would very much the like the opportunity to contribute to continuing the tradition. Thanks so much!(Kate McAngus)
