LISSA Officers Meeting 6/4/07

Advising Day

Next Friday, June 15th in the 3rd Floor Conference Center. Sean and Cheryl will be able to volunteer to work the LISSA table that day. All volunteers will receive a Simmons t-shirt that they are meant to wear that day, paid for from the LISSA accounts.

LISSA meet and advise

• Discussed the possibility of our group doing a separate advising event for incoming fall library students.
• Decided that a chat session might be more accessible to incoming students, considering that incoming students most likely are scattered across the country.
• Create live chat links for incoming students who want class advice
• Post times and dates on LISSA wiki
• Still need to find an appropriate live chatting services that does not require a download
• Send out flyer to incoming students advertising this service. Due Monday. Cheryl and Cindy will start working on drafts.

Professional Development Requests

Cindy went over Summer Professional Development Requests. Some hairy situations that Cindy will look over, otherwise, LISSA budget looks good.

Evaluations

Sean gave an overall update on the progress of evaluations. Almost finished! Again, other LISSA officers offered any help.

Discussed creating gmail accounts so the officers can chat and keep in touch
