Announcements and Introductions:

New faculty members have been introduced
Dean Cloonan: Announcement concerning the establishment of the Allen Smith Fund - which has had 20 donors so far.
Dean Cloonan: GSLIS has the largest population of students in the school's history: 751 students in the Master's Degree and 28 PhD candidates. The search for a new Provost continues - it is hoped that this position will be filled by the end of the Fall semester.

Committee Reports:

Rank & Tenure: report on search for new faculty; a meeting with the students will be organized and advertised in due course.
Technology: the upgrade of the TechLab is now complete; some kinks still have to be worked out (mostly with software installation).
Assistant Dean Plum will organize a workshop for the benefit of the interested faculty that will present the preliminary findings of the pilot project supported by the College, and implemented by OnlineCollegeEvaluations (OCE) over the Summer. Discussions will follow on whether to adopt at GSLIS.

Faculty Committee Elections

New faculty members have been elected to the GSLIS and Simmons College committees; the Curriculum Implementation Committee and the Web Advisory Committee have been disbanded
