2011 - 2012 Upcoming Events

MSLA Meeting

First, we're having a group meeting in the student lounge next Thursday, April 19 from 5-5:45. We'll be announcing the winners of the MassCUE scholarship and holding elections for next year's MSLA-SIG officers. It will also be a great opportunity to mix and mingle with SLTP students and also to ask any questions you may have about the School Library Teacher Program before the semester ends. Pizza will be served. We hope you can attend!

Susan Ballard Q&A Session

Second, Susan Ballard, the AASL President Elect is coming to Simmons on April 24th, 2012 for a Q&A session with School Library Teacher students and Instructional Technology Licensure students. This is a wonderful opportunity to discuss school librarianship issues and we encourage everyone to attend. The event will take place from 4:30-5:30 and refreshments will be served. Event location to follow. It would be wonderful if we could have a large turnout. Please try to attend.

MassCue scholarship reminder

And finally, just a reminder that essay entries for the MassCue scholarship are due to Laura Szaro (szaro@simmons.edu) by this Sunday (4/15).

For Everyone Interested: Please sign up to let us know your preferred email, meeting availability times and any committees or volunteering activities you would like to join!

We had a great first meeting. Minutes are available in the Meetings Section.

MSLA-SIG Conference

We'll be uploading the resources from the conference here: MSLA-SIG Conference

MASSACHUSETTS SCHOOL LIBRARY ASSOCIATION 2012 ANNUAL CONFERENCE

On March 4th and 5th, MSLA, our parent group, held their annual conference. I know some of us attended, but some of us didn't. Either way, the conference handouts are available online to download. You can access them here.

Take a look, we had some real superstar librarians present!
